Privacy policy

For the SlappAv app for iPhone and iPad and this website · Last updated: 20 October 2026

SlappAv is still being built. This policy describes the app as it is planned; I will review it before the release.

In short

SlappAv does not collect any personal data. The app has no accounts, shows no ads and uses no tracking or analytics tools. Apart from Apple’s iCloud, it connects to no server.

Who is responsible

Marcus Adler, slappav@adler-apps.info. SlappAv is a private, non-commercial project.

What stays on your device

Your journal entries, your shopping list, the history of your focus sessions and your settings are stored on your device.

iCloud

If you are signed in to iCloud, SlappAv syncs these entries through Apple’s CloudKit into the private database of your own iCloud account, so they appear on your other devices. Only you have access to it – I cannot see your entries. Apple’s privacy policy applies to iCloud. You can delete the data in the iCloud settings of your device under storage management. Without iCloud, everything stays on the device and is deleted when you delete the app.

Notifications and permissions

Only if you allow it does SlappAv show a notification when a focus session ends. It is created on your device; no server is involved. The app asks for no other permissions – no location, no photos, no microphone.

App Store

Downloads and updates go through Apple’s App Store, which is covered by Apple’s privacy policy. If you allowed your iPhone or iPad to share analytics with app developers, Apple provides me with aggregated usage and crash statistics. They do not tell me who you are.

This website

This site is hosted by STRATO GmbH in Germany. When you visit it, STRATO processes technically necessary data such as your IP address in server logs to deliver and protect the site – see STRATO’s privacy policy. The site itself sets no cookies, loads no third-party fonts or scripts and measures nothing.

If you write to me

If you send me an email, I use your address and message only to reply and delete them once they are no longer needed for that.

Your rights

You can ask at any time what data I hold about you and have it corrected or deleted – an email is enough. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

Changes

If anything about the app changes that affects your privacy, I will update this policy; the version published here applies.
